A three-day course to teach young people about Jersey's seafood heritage gets under way this week.
The Fish in School Hero programme was set up in 2019 to inspire secondary school students and food educators to prepare, cook and enjoy local fish and shellfish, said the Government of Jersey.
The programme will run from Tuesday to Thursday, with students given the chance to take part in cookery and seafood classes.
It was set up as a partnership between Jersey Marine Resources, the Food Teachers Centre's Fish in School Hero programme, the Fishmongers' Company's Fisheries Charitable Trust and the Master Fishmongers.
The team behind Fish in School Hero said the programme had trained more than 900 UK food technology teachers in the last three years to deliver seafood preparation lessons at GCSE level.
